Survey companies Fugro Chance Inc.; John Chance Land Surveys, Inc.; Fugro GeoServices, Inc.; and Fugro Seismic Imaging, Inc.; have recently reached a major safety and environmental goal. The companies have passed the certification audits necessary to earn their OHSAS 18001:1999 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment System) certification and ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management System) registration as supported in the framework of the company HSEMS (Health Safety and Environmental Management System) policies and procedures.

Fugro Chance Inc. is in compliance for the provision of offshore positioning, mapping, engineering and survey services for marine applications.

John Chance Land Surveys, Inc. is in compliance for the provision of advanced surveying, mapping, regulatory and ecological services for land applications and airborne LIDAR data collection and interpretation.

Fugro GeoServices, Inc. is in compliance for the provision of marine high-resolution geophysical data acquisition, related geohazard interpretation, and engineering geology consulting services.

Fugro Seismic Imaging, Inc. is in compliance for the provision of seismic data processing services.

With these certifications, the Fugro companies have made a statement to their employees, suppliers and customers that the company has taken pro-active steps to reduce health and safety risks and has focused upon the companies’ environmental performance and improvement.

The Fugro Companies have a stringent, in-house training program. Training for field employees include water survival, fire fighting, CPR, first aid, coast guard training, defensive driving, hazard identification, man-overboard procedures, and the identification of environmental issues.

Their ongoing knowledge, commitment, and training on safety and environmental regulations were instrumental in making this a reality.”

AIB-Vincotte (AV-USA), an independent certification body, conducted the certification audit and awarded the certificates to the companies.

These certifications, along with the familiar ISO 9001:2000 quality certifications, place these Fugro companies in the top percentage of companies registered to all three internationally recognized standards.
